Scoliosis Screening for 8th and 6th grade students will be on Wednesday, October 30th. 7th Grade: Stress management strategies and skills. 8th Grade: SMART Goal Setting - Worksheet and reflection completed during class today.
6th Grade: Becoming effective problem solvers. You completed a chart on stress, which focused on the flight-or-flight response, and healthy ways to manage stress. We discussed effective ways to both prevent, and resolve conflicts.
Resolving Conflict - Key Concepts/Vocabulary Conflict is a problem/disagreement between two or more people. Tolerance is the ability to accept other people as they are. Compromise is when each person gives up something to reach a solution that satisfies everyone.

7th Grade: We have been focusing on effective communication skills. Today we practiced recognizing persuasive tactics. 8th Grade: You completed a health triangle challenge and self-reflection. Today we focused on the benefits of setting personal goals.
6th Grade: We have been focusing on the three components of health. I have included a copy of these notes. Today we started working on a stress chart. The ultimate goal is to identify healthy ways to manage stress.

Eagle Block Monday, October 7th open to ALL Health students (6-8) who need to complete or make up assignments.
I will NOT be accepting ANY assignments after Thursday, October 10th. 7th Grade: Nutrient Test TOMORROW. You will need to complete your Fitness Challenge task with the time remaining or it will need to be completed at home.

ATTENTION ALL CLASSES: I MUST HAVE YOUR SIGNED HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT PERMISSION FORMS BEFORE FALL BREAK. 7th Grade: Your Great Life Grab Bag was due Tuesday. I am still missing numerous projects from each class. Tomorrow is the last day I can accept your project for a late grade. This will impact your grade significantly. We will continue to work on our nutrition unit this week. You will be taking a NUTRIENT TEST FRIDAY.
8th Grade: You will be working on nutrition and fitness application tasks this week. Example: Chopped Junior Challenge, Nutrition Case Studies, and Creating Fitness Plans.
6th Grade: The Big Menu Reveal was Monday. I loved seeing all of your hard work on display. We will be introducing our Gateway Drug Unit. Our initial focus will be on the risks linked to the use of tobacco products. 7th Grade: Great Life Grab Bag Due: Tuesday, September 17.
8th Grade: Using Choose My Plate guidelines for planning meals. You should have turned in your Life is All About Choices project today. 6th Grade: Today we discussed the elements of fitness, and the F.I.T.T principle. YOUR MENU IS DUE MONDAY. I can not wait to see them.
